Camargue

Arles

I had more time for photography in Arles where I spent the weekend before flying home through Nice on Sunday evening. I chose to go there because of Camargue - some pics from there in the next posting.

It happened to be parade day on Saturday. The ladies in traditional costumes are preparing to join in.

The Arles Roman Amphiteathre in b & w.

I was sitting in a restaurant at the Rond Point des Arenes beside the Amphitheatre. Dozens of people rode their Camargue horses past the point where I was having dinner and I had my camera on the table trying to shoot the passing horses and riders. This guy was a real showman riding back and forth on the street.

Cavaillon ja Avignon

It was actually a business trip so the first part of the trip I didn't take that many photos: in Valence nothing, in Cavaillon just a few pictures and in Avignon old town several pictures in the evening.

The first picture is from Cavaillon at the square just next to the tourist office: an unknown lady sitting on the stairs.



Second picture is around the corner a organic food shop with the wall of the old building painted red.

This picture is from an Avignon street in the evening. To me the picture is much better in b&w. Anyway due to the dim light it was impossible to get the white-balance right.
