Morning at lake Pielinen

The next morning the sun rouse from the other side of lake Pielinen. Sunrise takes time in the north. I took the first picture of the glowing sky at 8. It had started earlier but that's when I got myself out of bed. It was 9.45 when you could actually see the sun - it rises almost horizontally.

Pielinen lake is in ice with no snow. This is not typical - usually you don't have this kind of skating ice because there should be also snow. We came up here for a white Christmas - and we got it but just barely. The climate change is really hurting us.

Even here you are not quite in piece. The red skyline is broken by the Uimaharju pulp mill and the last picture includes both the pulp mill and the track of a jet. We are not alone.
